Junk Kouture

An exciting recycled fashion competition which challenges second level students from across the island of Ireland to create wearable couture fasion from rubbish that would normally find its way into landfill.

The idea is to subtly educate teenagers about the importance of recycling, while at the same time inspiring and challenging them to create something innovative and fashionable.

Over the years there have been dresses made from the most weird and wonderful things, including computer parts fruit peelings, bicycle tyre tubing, piano keys, Barbie dolls...and the list goes on!

The students must also come up with a performance to complement their design on the catwalk.
